It really was a thrill to pick up the baritone saxophone and perform some big band swing with The Montcrest Big Band again last Friday evening at Grossman Tavern. The Montcrest Band is an 18 piece ensemble that was once run by my high school music teacher and mentor Vic Bland. Vic got me involved with the group some 8 years or so ago in order to maintain my reading chops. I soon moved on to baritone saxophone from my original 3rd Alto chair. A really fun, positive spirited band that I am happy to call my friends.

We were missing our lead alto Alan Silverman so Brian filled in. Also missing: Larry Adey, Karen Maxwell and Ray Barton.
