It has been more than a year since the apocalypse, this much I know..

Here is a photo from the 90s of Vancouver's Le Chat au besoin. Nobby, Colin, myself, Jason and Michael.

This band soon became...

Since I hadn't posted here in a year I figured I'd start things off with a few oldie photos from the archive.

THE SUNDAY BAND at Grossmans Tavern

Ralph, Steve, Charlie, Chuck and Gram. Since 2012 maybe?

Grossman's Home of the Blues.

Chuck leads the band and Jack plays too. Sometimes Pat plays trombone, sometimes it's Tyler. Ian plays drums as does Paul and Josh. Every Sunday 3 to 7pm.

FRANKIE FOO at Southside Shuffle in Sept 2025

It was such a joy they have invited us back in for the closing Party on Sunday September 14th 2026!

By the way, there are some decent YouTubes of Frankie Foo Live at The Black Swan out there now available like. Recorded direct from the soundboard onto a stereo cassette recorder. Great house sound by Kevin and Jen and the bright and nimble mind of Irie Greg, with his cables and tapes, contributed to a near flawless debut release for the band.

Listen here to our take on The Skattalites' 'Invisible Ska':

and here is our rendition of the Prince Buster favourite 'Al Capone"

Tenor at Grossmans Tavern with The N.O. Connection!

I am loving this Conn 16M I picked up this summer on a whim. The horn plays beautifully even if sometimes I do not!

Frankie Foo and The Yoyo Smugglers at Grossmans Tavern, July 2024

Grossmans Tavern jumped up and down last Friday night to the sweet rocksteady and ska sounds of Frankie Foo! Join us at the end of every month for one of Toronto's favourite dance parties!
All photos from Patrick Lynch.
Taken seconds before that cheap ass mail order sax strap snapped!

Brother Jan on trumpet!

Graeme on the tenor sax!
