It was a swell run for Chris Daniels' Cheshire Cats Jazz Band at Smokeshow Barbecue. Over six months of Saturdays saw us performing under a pop up tent in the front parking lot during the early days of patio reopenings here in Toronto and ultimately onto the big stage indoors when the weather turned foul.
The band is Chris Daniels' idea and featured himself alongside Jamie Macpherson, Al Cox, Joe Van Rossem, Dr Charles Wright, Brigham Phillips, Tony Quarrington, Doc Walmsley, Ralph Pastore, John Karpenko, Dorothy Rose, Jerry Stilton and others.
What seemed to be a promising start when we moved indoors proved difficult to maintain as a fluctuating line up never gained the momentum needed. Six months is a great run and we've been invited back to open the patio season next spring.
